Now this is right up Donnie's alley! I'm not going to knock the hornady capabilities, they are a good bullet.
However I shoot scirocco's in just about whatever I can. As far as terminal performance I routinely blow through animals without significant blood shot meat - shoulder shots act like it was a partition bullet IMO. Minimal damage, usually a dead animal instantly or shortly following.
The question seems to come up about the bullets being to hard possibly pass through without expansion. My experience is with high velocity or lower velocity rounds like a creedmoor - my wife shot a red stag bull with a 6.5 creedmoor 130 grain swift scirocco's behind the shoulder and the animal stumbled 5 maybe 10 yards and toubled over, complete pass through. I shoot from 90 grains in my 240 (and all calibers in between from 257-270 and many 6.5's and 280/7mm combos) to 180's in my 300 and while the 300 is the only thing i have not killed an animal with I plan to use this combo for a south texas nilgai hunt because it's in a LW backcountry rifle that is dialled up and ready to make a distance shot if needed.
If they are accurate in your rifle, that's my choice!
