How do I adjust the trigger pull on my German Mark V?  The owners manual is too blurry to read. I don’t know which screw it is.

This is what I found long long ago, but I do not remember where anymore

"Trigger adjusting
On the German rifles, you'll need to remove the action from the stock. There are two small allen head screws on the trigger housing. The one on the rear adjusts the creep. Adjust it first, so there is at least 1/4 (preferably 1/2) turn before it trips. Then turn the allen screw on the front side counter-clockwise until you get to 3 pounds, or until it won't get any lighter (some guns won't go below about 4 pounds). Then go back the the creep screw and re-set the creep for 1/4 turn minimum."

Before you start messing with it you should darn sure take note of where and how it's set before you do.I have opened a can of worms before only to find out that I wish I hadn't.My advice to you is,if the trigger is just not awful, don't mess with it.Buy a trigger shoe and it will lessen your perceived pull weight.

Good luck to you.

Great advice here.  My German is first generation with the tang safety.  I retired it now and I am keeping it all orginal with original WBY scope.

Mine wouldn't go below 3.5 pounds. Unless the trigger has creep you don't need to mess withe rear creep screw. Just the front pull weight screw.

All my Japanese MKV have been replaced with a Timney trigger to 1.5 lb. I'm satisfied with the changes however I just acquired a 1960 MKV Deluxe German 270 WBY in pristine condition with exception of the Weatherby 3-9 x 44 Supreme scope rather beat up.  Must have been a safe queen (maybe) as there is no scratches or dings anywhere. The trigger is set at 2.1 lbs. so it will do fine, I guess.
