With what? I have three Weatherby Mk V's All shoot under 1 inch three shot groups. .240, .257, and .300 Weatherby magnums.

Sorry, I can't answer your revised question since I currently do not own a Vanguard. I did own at one time a Vanguard in .257 Wby mag. It also grouped under 1 in for three shots.

I have a Mark V Deluxe 300 Wby that likes the same reloads as my 300 Wby Vanguard.Their accuracy bewilders my friends who don’t get the ins and outs of large cartridge accuracy. Several other Vanguards are equally accurate as well as a converted VZ-24 that is the sweetest shooting 7mm Weatherby. My sons use Vanguards in 7mm Rem Mag and they drop deer like anything else. One shot almost always does it.

personally do not own any vany's all my mark v's will do half inch or better when we find the right combo either factory or reloads. If shooting magnum calibers definitely want to let them cool after 3 shots maybe sooner if it's hot when your shooting. I personally go as early as I can with several rifles so i can beat the heat, sure makes them hard to cool down in texas when it gets over 90 or close to 100 down here;

       Just wondering if you posted the question already having a good idea on what the answers would likely be? Maybe theres an underlying question, "Why should I buy a Wby Mark V when the less expensive Wby Vanguard is just as accurate”? Just curious because I know that sometimes justifying a purchase takes some mulling over.

I believe there is very little if any difference as far as accuracy goes. What load/bullet gets chambered matters more than Vanguard vs. MK-V. The Vanguard is a very capable rifle and if accuracy is the main criteria, a Vanguard is quite good enough (if available in the caliber you want). If big magnum calibers are your thing (and the accompanying heavy duty 9-lug bolt) and pluses like a 54 degree bolt throw are meaningful, than spend the extra $$ for a MK-V.
Come and take it.

I have Vanguards and Mark Vs. Both action types are very accurate.

Just boils down to what kind of rifle you want.
