It's getting a bit too active in the tropics for this early.  ;D

Hurricane Beryl is now a cat 4. Heading WNW towards the Yucatan in Mexico, but could turn north towards Texas. Grouchy, it looks like you're in the clear on this one, but here in Texas, we really need to keep a close eye on it. There is another one forming right behind Beryl.
Come and take it.

I am never in the clear as I trust the government on very little. I am 1 mile off the Atlantic coast. I'm waiting to see how the Keystone Cops do in hurricane conditions in Haiti on the U S taxpayer's dime! U S troops secured the airport there! In any case, where this cat 4 hits, us U S taxpayers will be on the hook!

Predictions on Beryl are that it might hit the tip of Texas and only as a strong thunderstorm.Hope I get rain out of it,but not holding my breath.I'm sure South Texas wishes for as much rain as it can get as well.

Beryl is a cat 5, 160mph constant with higher gusts. I  think Oscar can tell us about Andrew as a cat 5 in Homestead,Fl. I've had several cat 3's and that is enough for me.

Predictions for the Texas southern tip are wind speeds of 65mph and I'm 441 miles North of there.Lot of a "buffer zone" between me and the tip of Texas.

Beryl's cone of death still has the Texas/Mexico border as the center bullseye. If it hits there I'm fine (maybe some rain) but folks south of Corpus Christi better batten down the hatches. Hoping for the best.
Come and take it.

That cone of death will depend largely on how much strength “Beryl” picks up in the warm waters of the Gulf coming off of landfall in the Yucatan peninsula. This weekend will be interesting, let's hope people heed the warnings, especially along Beryl’s westerly path thru Tx/Mex. The only way South Central Texas could be affected is if Beryl takes a more northerly turn than is expected at this time. Storms like this can be unpredictable and can ruin your day, if not your life. Or take your life.

NHC says don't count on the 5 day cone as it can vary a lot. Plan for the worst and hope for the best!  The rain with a storm like this can be the real problem.

Looks like Beryl is already falling apart.Might pick back up a little when it gets into the gulf.

It's going to be a big rain event at the very least. It's  predicted path is now a bit further north, more of a Texas landfall.

I hope I get some rain from it up my way.

Now that they keep moving the cone north, I'm probably getting at least some wind and rain out of this. The further it curves north, the more time it will spend over water to strengthen. Here we go.
Come and take it.
