It's reorganizing and spreading out. They say it will weaken some before landfall. I am now under a hurricane warning, just on the edge of it. If it weakens a lot, this may be the biggest crying wolf ever. At the best, I figure a major rain event here with tropical storm winds.

It looks like a CAT-3 going into Tampa.  We may get some rain from the outer bands, but that's it.

It's 150 mph sustained right now. That is much better than the 180 mph winds yesterday. The three day cone has moved a bit north of me for now. I'm actually getting some yard work done today.  :)

I'm no hurricane expert but the direction this one has gone and is going is weird. Don't they usually go east to west with north/south movements secondary?

You guys stay safe, especially Grouchy! Definitely going to lift up some prayers over the next few days for all those affected. I hope the storm will weaken and it won't be as bad as the talking heads are saying.

Last night, I saw a grown weatherman crying on his TV cast saying he's never seen anything like this and it's all global warming and you climate deniers are the devil (paraphrasing)... it was pathetic. That's the kind of guy who pees sitting down.

Atlantic storms this year have mostly gone north. The steering currents change the direction of Hurricanes and Tropical storms. The gulf and Carribean is the usual starting points this late in the season and they can and do go in almost every direction other than due south. Sitting a mile off the Atlantic, I keep an eye on this stuff several times a day.  I got my yard mowed today.   Thanks, JWDynamics!

Milton is back up to a cat 5 at 165 mph!  With all the unrelated rain here lately,if we get winds in hurricane range,I believe there will be hardwood trees down for the soggy ground. I have no trees near my house,a learned lesson.

I am now under a tornado watch. Other than that, nothing is going on here. It is predicted to go to hell later today. Some neighbors are closing up for the storm now. Better now than never!  :)

Good luck to you and especially those on the Gulf side. It's going to be a rough ride. Looks like for West Palm and points south, it will only be tropical storm winds at worst.
Come and take it.

The last update says the winds have backed off to 130mph. I am under a tornado warning till 2100. There ain't jack you can do about a tornado. There are no cellars here. One touched down near Ft. Lauderdale,no damage reported. The wind here is picking up and some rain fell. The power flickered a little. I do have a generator if needed. Tampa is going to be a mess. As big as Milton is, I expect near hurricane winds and tons of rain.

The red squares indicating tornado forming clouds are popping up all over my area on radar .One is over me now. I am getting wind gusts near 50mph with rain squalls. The problem is the wind keep changing direction. The dog is hunkered down in the hall. That is where I figure to go if a tornado touches down, no windows. One idjit neighbor is trying to put shutters up in this. Went over and helped him!  Never do today what you put off to tomorrow?

And never put off until tomorrow what you can postpone indefinitely.

I'm getting winds well into the 50's with higer gusts and not much rain. The power has had some serious flickering. I may lose it all together at any moment. Just another day in paradise!  ;D

Do you still have power, are you safe and did you sustain any property damage?
