Nosler ending partnership with Weatherby

Nosler ending partnership with Weatherby
« on: October 05, 2024, 07:49:28 PM »
I recently inquired Weatherby Customer Service regarding future availability of some Nosler loadings that I have used in some of my Weatherbys and was told that Nosler ended their business partnership with Weatherby. Was quite surprised when I read that, they have been a staple in the Weatherby lineup for basically the entirety of Weatherby Ammunitions existence, is this old news? I don't make it on here near as often as I used to, maybe totally missed a discussion on it?
I've basically been using Barnes in everything as of late and am getting more and more intrigued by Hammer's offerings, however, was still surprised by that news.
Nosler perhaps didn't like Weatherby offering up ammo in non-Weatherby calibers? Youd think a bullet manufacturer would want to sell bullets to anyone that loads ammo though?

Yes this is old news. I do believe it was Weatherby that parted ways as Nosler could not supply them with enough projectiles to make their factory ammunition.

I would imagine there are more than one issue as to why companies parted ways,  could be a supply and demand issue,  could be a price issue,  who knows.   Back in the day Winchester made their own powder, primers, brass, bullets, other components,   guns,    of course that's different today.  one thing about most everything made in house you have better control over things, but again you take all the risks also.

I seem to remember this coming up a while back and it was a supply issue. A couple of the big ammo makers are producing tons of 7.62X39 to ship to the Ukraine. Hammer steppd up to supply Weatherby.

After Reading this post I looked up hammer bullets in Weatherby calibers.  And the 30-378 popped up. Seems they still have offerings for nosler bullets.

The end of their partnership has no impact on me. I hand load virtually all my rifle ammo and I have plenty of good Nosler bullets if I ever need them. I have held onto some 200 grain Partitions for an elk hunt someday.
As a pure business deal I can understand the move because if it is no longer profitable or going the way someone wants it then why keep it? There are plenty of great bullets for Weatherby cartridges.

Same here Eric.  I have only bought Weatherby ammo for the box and the brass.
I think I have all the bullets I will ever need for my 300 & 340
Although I am interested in how these hammer bullets preform. But I plan to read about ;D

I have used the Hammer bullets, out of a 6.5 rpm on antelope, mule deer and cow elk. The performance has been outstanding.

Hammer has a wide variety of hunting bullets. One guy I know who uses them said the Hammers are the most accurate bullet he has used......and he has used plenty of other bullets.

I have only shot hammers out of my 30-378 from factory wby and I can say that they are extemely accurate. I have plenty of loaded ammo for all my weatherbys. The ones that shoot partitions I have a stable of ammo most likely to last my wife and I a long time;

I'm sure that whatever bullets Weatherby is (and will be) sourcing will be decent performers. The ammo is expensive with top notch performance expectations and they can't afford to screw things up with mediocre bullets. No worries.
Come and take it.

I load my own for every centerfire gun I own. The Partitions work well at my typical close range game shots.

Well if that's the case I have a box of 270 WBY 150gr Partitions I'd be willing to sell if anyone needs a box. I bought it thinking I'd shoot them after I got the gun but did more research and opted for the TTSX. But now after further research I have 2 boxes of Hammers coming to switch to those. So let me know if anyone is interested.
