I have a 378 Weatherby with a 26" barrel, not threaded. I'm considering cutting it down to 24, maybe 23 inches and threading it for use with a suppressor. Once I do that, I plan on using it pretty much exclusively with a suppressor. I know these cartridges need a long barrel to get the most out of them, but looking at the Weatherby DGR I see that was 24". Any insight on the cons of cutting 3 inches off the barrel?
