MKV Deluxe rebarrel?
« on: November 22, 2024, 07:29:41 AM »
I have a couple questions regarding having Weatherby rebarrel a rifle. If staying with the same Weatherby caliber (.240 Weatherby) about how much does this run?

Also are the barrels they use the same as what a MK5 would have left with when new and also is it marked the same way with their roll marks and stamps?
The Weatherby Mark V Deluxe is the Rolls-Royce of hunting rifles.

Weatherby now uses Criterion barriers. I was advised that they have a different contour than earlier barrels and some stock work will be required.

Is that what all the Sheridan built rifles have now or at least the very newest ones from the factory or is that just what's being used as replacement barrels? I'm also assuming they aren't marked at all like the original factory barrels?

You need to check with Weatherby on the cost and the turn around time either with a phone call or an email. Good luck!  :)

If your rifle was a 240 there won't be any need for any bolt face work, but if your Mark V was chambered in any other Weatherby Magnum round then you will run into trouble, because a 240 Magnum's case head is smaller than the other Weatherby Magnum cases
