Packages

I placed an order with Midway at 0900 yesterday. I usually include some ammo to avoid shipping by USPS. Midway had shipping info sent at 1430 via UPS, the same day. I'm not sure that done so quickly is a good sign. It might mean they are not very busy, not good for their business!

Their automation makes this very possible.  Most of the big business (guns, cigars, etc) I buy from, they usually send shipping information that same day.  However, if you look at UPS website, you'll see that the label was created, but they (UPS) does not have the package.

UPS had the package as of late last night and it is on the way. Unlke FedEx that loses packages and makes it very dificult to get compensated for the loss!  USPS looks better than FedEx right now to me.  :)

Grouchy... I do the same thing if I place an order with MidWay. I always include at least one box of ammo so that the order ships UPS and not USPS. For the most part, I'm happy with buying/shipping through MidWay as long as it ships UPS. With that said, I will agree with PARA45 that "you'll see that the label was created, but they (UPS) does not have the package" does hold true quite often. I am disappointed that they're ammo prices are so high.

I add an extra to all deliveries anymore. My little town's name shows up in several spots in Florida. I always use the city as W Palm Beach as the town with the actual town as an Apt. number.  Only USPS pays attention to the zip code it seems. I add a cheap box of .22's to the order from Midway usually. This order has a 5 round box of  12 Ga. 00 buckshot. FedEx has the best tracking. I know exactly where my package was lost or stolen.  ;D

Over the last year or so I’ve ordered all my shotgun ammo from Rogers Sporting Goods. Usually, target ammo is $99-109 for a case of 250.
If ordered before 10:00 AM, it is delivered the next day before 4:00PM. All ammo orders over $99 ship free.
Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, she walks into mine.

I’ve had problems with UPS, but not with Fed-Ex. In the case of stolen items (empty box delivery) UPS made it hard to resolve the situation.

USPS lost a package to me once. They were easy to deal with. I was sending the lost FedEx package to a good friend. I felt bad about the loss but retained decent language with FedEx. I do have a PHD in American "French".  ;D

American French s never necessary, unless you’re trying to show off. It’s amazing how many people like to show off ;D.

It's a learned thing. It was very normal in every conversation with people of both sexes growing up around the D C area. My favorite teacher in high school used it all the time. He was the print shop teacher.   ;D

Midway is always pretty fast getting orders (in my experience). I've had very good luck with them, even stuff that came USPS (nothing lost or late yet). Often times the package will sit for a whole day before it's actually in transit, but that's the shipping company (UPS, Fedex, etc.), not the people you bought from.
Come and take it.

I absolutely hate USPS shipping, but it is the cheapest out there when you only have a small order.
I'm waiting now on an air rifle part that is coming from Arkansas. USPS is it is in weather delay and will be late arriving. I have watched packages pass my location go to Philly Pa to New Jersy to Baltimore to DC back To Baltimore and then sent to the local post office for delivery.
Watched UPS go to New Jersy to Baltimore to Laurel back to Baltimore and then to Frederick, sometimes it goes to Martinsburg Wv and then to Frederick.
I owned my own trucking business and for the life of me I don't know how they make any money running back and forth between DCs before they finally get it to where it can be delivered. I would have been bankrupt my first year if I had done this.
