1998 Vanguard VS Model

I recently got a 300 WBY MAG Vanguard with the serial number starting with VS.Weatherby said it’s a1998.  It fits tight in the stock and isn’t free floated.  There is also a contact point towards the end of the barrel.  I am new to owning a WBY.  Is this normal?

I am also trying to find an owners manual for it.

Yes, the contact point is standard on all Weatherby's from the factory. Usually it is fine but once in a while you need to adjust it. Shoot it for a while and see how it does before adjusting the pressure point.
