Outstanding JP Sauer Weatherby Mark V 300 WBY for sale

I have a beautiful Weatherby Mark V for sale.  It was built in 1959 (P24XXX) according to JP Sauer & Sohn for a US Army pilot stationed near there.  The black walnut was hand-selected and the rifle comes with iron sights!  JP Sauer had installed European claw mounts and a Nichols 1.5-6 scope which continues to work well.  The scope can be taken off quickly and when reinstalled holds POI well.  Sauer also provided a leather scope case for transportation.  I had New England Custom Guns built a second pair of claw mounts which carry a Zeiss Conquest 3.5-10x44mm scope.  So, the package includes two usable, excellent scopes.  5 boxes of Weatherby Supreme factory ammo are also included.  Contact me for more pictures or discussion if interested.

Gorgeous gun.  High quality back then.  I am puzzled with the serial number.

the "P" serial numbers started in 1964 from what I see.

That is why it was puzzling to me to say it was a 1959.  I have a 1959, Made in W. Germany.  Serial number 21,xxx and confirmed by Weatherby.  I believe it started a little later than 1964, perhaps 1968?

I looked it up,1964 was the first starting with P. Until then,they started with numbers!

The "P" prefix in the Mark V serial number started in 1964.
