The 224 WBY has been eclipsed by the far more popular and faster 22-250. Now a 204 WBY on the other hand could be pretty cool. The 204 ruger has really taken off. I think a 204 WBY could be an awesome varmint load and put WBY back in the running. Think 204 Ruger velocities plus 400 fps. 32gr. 4665 fps, 40gr. 4300 fps, 45gr. 4025. These bullets are incredibly efficient. Using the ballistics calculater at norma.cc for the 45gr. hornady spitzer bullet with a 300 yd. zero I got a -21.6 in. drop at 500 yds. for comparison to the 224 Wby -27.9 in. Even the 40. gr vmax at a conservative velocity of 4100 fps only drops -18.6 in. at 500 yds.

in my opinion a .204-224Wby wouldn't last long.
most people think of their rifles as tools, and they won't buy a MkV when they get almost the same package in a 700 SPS for 500$.

just look at the .224 Wby Mag vs .22-250.

and frankly, if you can't hit it with 4200fs, you probably won't hit it with 4600fs.
