I will be out there after them. We are allowed one turkey, either sex during archery deer season. Then we have a quota hunt during the muzzleloader deer season and depending on the county, you can shoot anywhere from 1 bird, either sex to 15 birds. I am in a county that allows 15 birds, 3 per tag, I can get 5 tags. I managed to kill 5 last fall, 3 with one shot
. I provided a pic of my kill and the box of shells with 4 empty. One was a clean miss...lol.

Sam:I need to move to Tennessee.
.Those are some liberal limits.I hunt mostly in the spring but we do have a fall season in Texas.Usually, most in the Fall get them while Deer hunting. It is legal to shoot them with a rifle, but not quite as much fun as with the shotgun and calling one in.We can get 4 birds total.Only 1 can be an Eastern.I recently heard we have some Merriam's in Texas in the mountains. Now if we could only get the Osceola here. What pop gun are you using?I shoot a Mossberg Ultimag but have been thinking of getting a semi 3 1/2 but cringe at their prices for a turkey only gun.Looks like the 11/87 may be the cheapest out there.

I am shooting a Winchester 1300. It only shoots 3" shells, but it has treated me right every season. I use it for everything I hunt, squirrel, rabbit, dove, even pheasant and ducks.
