Why does Weatherby not make the CFP in other calibers like .308 Win., 358 Win., .284 Win., and .338 Federal? Surely the .308 would be a good seller. In my limited experence the .338 Federal might be the best of all for hunting. I can understnd not making the .284, it is not very popular, but it does outpreform the 7-08. Having said all this, I do own a 7-08 pistol.

Actually, in the late 90's you could get the CFP in the .308.  You can still find these sometimes on the used market, including some NIB. 

I've got one of these and it's great, but could be even better.  With the recoil reduction offered by the Accubrake and using a Magnum receiver, there's no reason not to to up the CFP horsepower to the 270, 7mm or even 300 Magnum with Accubrakes standard on the Magnums.  I think the 270 or 7mm would really redefine pistol performance.

I have wanted one of these for a long time, but they are just sooooo expensive. I just cannot understand how it can cost more for this than a Mark V synthetic rifle. If it were cheaper than a full sized Mark V rifle I'd seriously consider buying one, but if the cost is the same I just have to choose the long gun.

Is it possible to get a Mark V in stainless with a wood stock, if so how much?

It should be offered in 260 remington.
