Bought a Vanguard in the 270wsm caliber.Hot happy with the accuracy, Best I can do is about a 4 to 5 inch group at 100 yds.I have other rifles that I can keep the group at 1 to 1.25 inches.Put on a new nikon scope, It helped but not much.I do notice brass shavings on the bolt face face after a couple of rounds and you can feel it needs more force to close the bolt ac the shavings build up.I plan on getting a muzzle brake installed, I know this wont help but the recoil is just a little too much.  Any ideas?

Is this a brand new rifle and new factory ammo ?   Which Vanguard the synthetic,  S2 , etc.  ?  Model Nikon and rings bases ?   Please be specific and maybe one us us can narrow things down a bit.    Brass shaving on the bolt  and bolt resistance leads me in the direction of re-loads or action binding ?

Without any info I'm going to take a guess.   Re-loads,   bedding or action binding ,    I doubt it's the scope since you changed it.   Very dirty chamber.

How does factory ammo  chamber and extract ?
