What would be the best choke tube for hunting turkeys over a field?  I plan on making 30-50 yard shots.  Also what would be the best shot size?

Superfull Turkey Choke. Not sure which ones the Sa takes but Issac can tell you when he sees the post.Pattern the different shot with your gun and choke to see which it likes best.I usually end up using 6 shot in commercial loads made for Turkey. What species and where are you hunting?

I use an Extra Full turkey choke from Carlsons and shoot Federal Premiums that use the flight control wad and 1 7/8 oz of No. 6's at 1300 fps. I don't use a ported choke, they can make some of the wads act funny, and grab a couple boxes and pattern them as Rodger says. When you are buying a choke for the SA, the package will say use with Winchester/Weatherby/Mossberg, that's the one you want. If you have one of the threat response models, they use beretta's mobil choke system.

thanks guys, and I will be hunting anywhere from over a field to in dense hardwoods.  The sa-08 can take up to a 3" load and I have patterned with the standard full choke and it patterns poorly at most ranges.  I plan to use 5's or 6's perhaps in winchester supreme ammo.

Luke: Factory chokes tend to pattern poorly across the board. When I buy a shotgun, I buy aftermarket chokes before I ever shoot it. I think Carlson's is the best bang for the buck.

Luke if you're going to stick with the factory choke try the Heavy Shot. It patterns very well using standard full and extra full chokes.

I would look into a .670 constriction. A .680 at the most. Should get good patterns with the right #5 or #6. Its expensive, but the Hevi-Shot Magnum Blend has produced some great patterns and killed lots of turkeys.

I think this makes year number 3. The first year was 3" and 3.5" 12ga, the next was 3" 20ga, and this year introduces the 3.5" 10ga.
