Hendershots

My wife and I were on a get away this weekend and drove through Hagerstown, MD.  So I decided to stop at Hendershots and see what their store was all about.  It's definitely an up-scale gun shop where Weatherby was in the mid-range of their stock.  Among other WBYs, they had 2 DGRs in Desert Camo--a 460 and a 416.  Very nice!  They also had the largest stock of WBY factory ammo I've ever seen in one place, to include a few factory boxes of WBY 338-06 (never seen that on a shelf before).  Plus, they had an amazing collection of game mounts.

Overall, a great time.

Anybody else ever been to Hendershots, either in Hagerstown or at their old place in Hancock?

Hendershot is the name Clint Eastwood called himself to little Bill in Unforgiven.  ;D Sounds pretty cool, I like coming across places like that.

Do they have a website?  Here in Northeast Pennsylvania there aren't many gun shops that carry a good selection of top end stuff, mostly they carry mid to lower end.  That's a place I'd definitely make a road trip to.
Nothing is better than a Weatherby, big bore magnum, or a Colt.

My wife bought me a 270 WBY Outfitter from them--ordered it and did an FFL transfer to a local gunshop (in Columbus, GA at the time).  I was very satisfied with the customer service, and I got a great deal on the rifle, too.

I checked out the rifles you mentioned Chaplain on their website and they had some good pictures of their deals! The shop in C Spring's is an amazing place but their website HUGS! I emailed them and told them so i should be getting a negative email from them soon :o but it is a shame for a place like this to have a sorry no good website!

I was in Hagerstown once. Stayed at a hotel right across from the airport there. Walked a little over a mile to the airport entrance the next morning to catch a flight home. Stopped at a little outdoor store on the way there. I dont remember what it was called, but it was a nice little store.
