"Job well done" to one of our Canadian colleagues
« on: June 22, 2017, 12:33:41 AM »
I always assumed that our brothers in arms above the Great Lakes could shoot as well as us, but how about a big congratulations to the fine Canadian marksman for setting a new distance record for a sniper shot in Ragland; right at two miles.  Did I misread the article, or did it say it took ten seconds for the projectile to reach it's target.  I bet the "target" had a surprised look on his face..... or what was left of it.  Shall we say that the terrorist got... Canucked.  MM

Wow, that record will stand for awhile I think. Yes you read it right 10 second flight time.

That is awesome. Most of the time attack helicopters don't even take targets that far out.

Very impressive marksmanship from a team of Canadian elites!

I believe the article said "less than 10 seconds."

That's a GREAT shot to say the least.  I wonder what he was using for a scope on the rifle.
Nothing is better than a Weatherby, big bore magnum, or a Colt.

Read on another site that he was using a Schmidt & Bender 5- 25X 56.

Skill meets opportunity, and the winner is.......the side we're on!  Let's hear it again for our NATO ally up north. Well done, indeed.

He probably got his start shooting gophers in the prairie wind. ;D

That was quite the shot, the trajectory of the bullets would be fun to see.

10 second flight time. Not saying that the guy wasn't a great shot but this was pure luck. The recipient of his skill had to have been sitting in a chair sipping camel pee tea or something? He sure wasn't walking around. Ten seconds is a long time to be perfectly still. I'm waiting on them to repeat it.  ;D
