Welcome to the Nation bg7m. Good looking 3 shot group, was that right out of the box, or after a break-in procedure of sorts?

Only cleaned the bore with Hoppes after I got the rifle.

I see some companies send a test target with the rifle, always wondered if they follow their own break-in procedures before shooting the test target.

Weatherby use to send test targets with new rifles years ago, but stopped that practice. The .99 MOA guarantee came to the Vanguard series 2 rifles first and for sure the test target was no longer necessary. The Mark V followed with .99 MOA (I believe there were some proprietary issues to iron out before the Mark V could get the .99 guarantee) I'm sure the break-in procedure is left solely up to you, as rifle mfg's don't have the time or want to run anywhere from 1 to 3 boxes of ammo through a rifle. Most mfg's have great tooling and either buy or make their own barrels to eliminate outside factors, and I believe that most rifles get at least a 3 shot grouping (at least random rifles) before they leave the factory.

Nice group
My 240 wby can shoot three shots at 200 yards under 1.5 inches (with a five minute cooldown) using factory ammo - only have 20 rounds through the rifle.  I gave it a good cleaning before I shot it. Absolutly do not regret going with 240 wby - I am satisfied how accurate it is with factory ammo.  You can not go wrong with Weatherby !!!
