Help me decide on which load of the three you would use for elk for no longer than a 300 yard shot(my personal comfort zone).
Handload 180 gr Nosler Partition Point,  MV 2885 fps Energy at 300 yards 1883
3 shot group 0.6"
Federal Premium 180 gr Nosler Partition Point, MV 3013 fps Energy at 300 yards 2075
3 shot group 0.9"
Barnes VOR-TX 180 gr TTSX, MV 2937 fps Energy at 300 yards 2277
3 shot group 0.9"
I used my chronograph and a ballistic table to get the above data.
My rifle is a Weatherby Alpine CT 300 Win Mag. Range was 100 yards. I have not yet shot at any longer range yet nor have I made a final zero with my scope. I'm just trying to decide on what to reload or stock up on for the near future. Next range trip i will zero my scope for one of the above and shoot all three at 200 yards which is the limit for that particular range.

A good big game hunt takes one good shot. I'd try the loads at 200 and maybe a clear winner will show up. Otherwise, go with your load that has an advantage.

The difference of 3 tenths of an inch at 100 yds translates to less than an inch at 300 yds. I'm not sure that any hunter under typical hunting conditions could hold that .9 inch at 300 yds. I would choose the fastest load to minimize bullet drop.
