I shoot a hand made Les Dunsden 35# bow (from the 50's, was my father's) for 3D and target....not powerful enough to hunt with here.

I shoot a Hoyt Game Master recurve. It has that TEC riser so its not really a traditional style but its not a compound either.

I shoot a Schafer Silvertip bocote riser/zebra wood limbs 60@29. Have killed several deer and a fox squirrel with it. I have been shooting trad bows for the past 17 years. Going after elk in CO with it in 3 weeks.

I shoot an old Damon Howatt hunter 55 #, Beautiful Bow. I wish I could shoot as good as it looks.  I do have a newer Hoyt compound that's a dream to shoot.

I have been trying to make my own long bow.
I am currently on attempt #3. I am using white ash.
I broke the last two when seasoning them.

I use to own and hunt with a Pearson Cougar Re-Curve. It was a very smooth bow to shoot, not very fast but accurate. I loved that bow as much as I love my WBY 300. I let someone talk me out of it, CHEAP! I ended up with a PSE Compound bow, very fast fps in compairison, sometimes not quite as accurate and violent to shoot. Its like shooting a 223 for many years and then picking up 300 MAG for the first time. Surprise! When I release my arrow I can feel the torque throughout my body. I miss my re-curve but I love my WBY 300, and that alone makes me smile.                Steve Mc
